Welcome to Prekindergarten at Jones Elementary

Georgia’s PreK Program prepares children for school by providing an opportunity for them to develop school readiness skills in an environment that encourages them to have fun while learning.  Our PreK students are active learners in classrooms designed to help them become independent decision-makers.  Parents are welcome to observe or volunteer to help with classroom activities.  It is helpful if you set a time with your child’s teacher to visit the classroom.

THINGS WE NEED TO KNOW

Afternoon Pick-up . . .We need the names of all people allowed to pick up your child.  We also need the name and description of the car that will pick up your child.  If there are any changes, we need a written note.  Students who leave school before 2:30 must be personally signed-out in the office by the legal guardian or be designated by the legal guardian as having the right to pick up the child.  You may be asked to show identification.

Emergency Numbers . . . We must be able to contact you at all times.  Please keep us updated on any changes.  We must have your current phone number.  We need several emergency numbers such as grandparents or others allowed to pick up your child if he is sick.
