Kindergarten Pre-Registration

2008/2009 School Year

Pre-registration for the 2008/2009 kindergarten at Jones Elementary School is scheduled for Monday, February 4, through Friday, February 11, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM each day. Parents will need to call Sandra Kierbow at the K-1 building (770-537-5596) to schedule an appointment time for registration and testing for their child.

In order to register a child for kindergarten at Jones Elementary, parents must bring these original documents. Copies for your child’s file will be made at the school.

1 Certified birth certificate (must have state file number)

1 Social security card

1 Eye, ear, dental exam certificate

1 Current immunization certificate (form 3231)

All parents will need to complete these forms at registration:

þ Kindergarten registration form

þ New student registration form (city residents only - you must provide 2 proofs of residency)

þ Application for admission to Bremen City Schools (non-resident students only)

þ Permission to test

Parents of prekindergarten students currently enrolled at Jones Elementary School do not have to call for an appointment for pre-registration or testing. Packets containing required forms will be sent home by prekindergarten teachers. These forms must be completed and returned to the child’s teacher to pre-register your child. Testing for prekindergarten students will take place during school hours.

All non-resident students, including currently enrolled non-resident prekindergarten students, will be placed on a waiting list and will be accepted on a space-available basis. Criteria for acceptance includes academic performance, behavior, teacher recommendation, and attendance. Non-resident students must pay tuition. The tuition fee for next year will be $1150 per child with a family cap of $2950 (three or more children). Tuition can be paid in full on registration day in August or divided into two equal payments ($575 per child/$1475 family cap) with the first payment due at registration and the second due by November 14. Non-payment of tuition fees, late payment, or returned checks are grounds for revocation of enrollment status.
